18mm Follow-Me Safety Eye Starter Kit

Want to make your stuffed toys 'pop'? Mold your own follow-me eyes!

This is a starter kit for making your own molds for 18mm follow-me eyes with cat, cuttlefish, heart, star, or round pupils.

Step 1:

Polish and varnish the dome on the 'assembled' blank so it it completely smooth. This step is essential.

Step 2:

Using Silicone, create molds for each pupil, as well as for the cupped back.

Step 3:

Create a 2-part mold for the assembly blank, with the 'peg' part in one half of the mold and the 'dome' in the other part.Try to avoid having mold seams on the dome itself.

Step 4:

Using your prefered resin color, cast the cups and desired pupils. Let them cure completely before demolding.

Step 5:

Set the pupil pegs into the peg half of the assembly mold. Fill the dome portion with clear resin before closing the two halve of the mold. Allow the cure completely before demolding.

Step 6:

Polish the domed portion of the molded eyes. Ether paint the backs of the clear portion of the eye for the iris, or print 18mm irises and slide them on the pegs before installing the eyes in your project.
