The Sul Dofio was an experimental design that has seen limited deployment. The vessel is considered not significant enough to warrant a new class name and is treated as a variant of the Dofio, hence the designation of Apparso. (The prefix “sul” translates to “big” or “bigger.”)

The Sul Dofio is essentially a Dofio Frigate, to which 10m has been added to the centre of the vessel. The additional volume allowed a slightly larger power core, and to upgrade the main gun to a Dalaon 350D Heavy Lazer Projector, with 33% greater range and power. The amount of shields and armour was also upgraded. However, the engines remained the same, and the vessel lost 16% of its acceleration and agility. The experiment was not considered a great success. A modest number of the vessels see service, but no new ships are planned to be constructed.
