Torpedoantrieb

Dear Modellers,

this is the model for a functional G7 Torpeodo for any Schnellboot with an outer Diamter of 16 mm. For the interior like the DC engines you need as well the following parts from other providers. I provide here the part description and order number:

Propellers: You have to produce the propeller yourself from 0.5 mm brass material, but maybe the attached picture of the propeller can be reused by you. Simply print out the drawing, glue them onto the brass material and start sawing and sanding.

For the tube shaft you need 1 x Messing Rohr Profil (Ø x L) 1.5 mm x 500 mm Innen-Durchmesser: 1.1 mm Order Number.: 297160 – 62

For the solid shaft you need 1 x Messing Rund Profil (Ø x L) 1 mm x 500 mm 1 St. Order Number 297208 – 62

The torpedo is switched on in general we use a closed reed contact to keep the electric current open when the torpedo is in the tube. The magnet keeps the contact open and when the torpedo is shot away from the magnet the red contact closes and the engines will start running. Therefore you need 1 x Reed-Kontakt 1 Schließer 180 V/DC, 180 V/AC 0.25 A 10 W Glaskolbenlänge:13.5 mm COTO Technology RI01CGP1015... Order Number 1233073 – 62. For keeping the reed contact open you need 1 Permanent-Magnet Stab N38SH Grenztemperatur (max.): 150 °C 503662 Order Number 503662 - 62

For the center part of the torpedo you can use a regular electric pipe, which should be very cheap. You need 1 x Stangenrohr EN16 2 m 613502 Hell-Grau (RAL 7035) 1 St. Order Number: 613502 – 62

For the engines and the solid shaft you need the same cogwheels,

3 x Zahnrad / Trieb M0.3 / Z10 Bohrung (D) in mm:1,0 Breite (T) in mm:2,0
Material:Acetalharz POM weiss – order number 30010

For the tube shaft you need the same specification with a larger center hole:

1 x Zahnrad / Trieb M0.3 / Z10/ Bohrung (D) in mm:1,5 /Breite (T) in mm:2,0
Material:Acetalharz POM weiss – Same order number as above but with a larger inner diameter of 1,5 mm

 

Further you need a ball bearing for the solid and tube shaft:

Loading of your small lipo batteries should be done through the 2 Loading shafts in the head of the torpedo. I designed 2 tubes supporting any loading shaft of 2 mm brass shaft angled by 60 mm to ensure that the torpedo is always correctly (dummy proofed) positioned in the loading pod.
