Broad Gauge 1st Class 6-Wheel Coach (N Scale)

This coach is designed to Brunel’s broad gauge as used on the original Great Western Railway.  Used with other broad gauge items available – notably axles for easy conversion and ready-to-use dual-gauge sleepers for track, this is a fully operational model complete with locating points for broad and standard-gauge couplings.  

Necessary to Complete:
Wheels – Peco spoked wheels cut in two work ideally (NOTE the axlebox holes may need slight countersinking internally with a drill to provide a perfect fit)
Axles – either those available to slot Peco wheelsets onto or an equivalent to ensure the correct 14mm gauge (eg 12.5mm lengths of cotton wool bud shaft)
Couplings (the method used is at the builder's discretion)

NOTE: depending on the radius of curves used, it may be advisable to modify the central wheelset to have increased side-play.  This can be achieved by removing the end pins and scratchbuilding internal supports akin to locomotives and other items available here.
