Lock Bar

This the lock bar part of the right angle cylindrical tool adapter / carrier I made for the Dremel 220 Drill Press.

This carrier needs the other parts (Wedge, Mandrel & Carrier) to function as per design. The design goal here is to create a carrier that would specifically hold the Dremel 225 wire drive hand tool into the the 220 drill press. This allows:

1. The press to be used to do basic translational cuts.
2. Press to be used as a mini drop saw.
3. The press to hold cylindrical objects with diameters from 10mm to 30mm (note you need different mandrels to get the full size range).

Note this is not a Dremel product. Using this and damaging your Dremel may void any warranties from Dremel.

This bar is needed to lock the tool carrier into the Dremel drill press. It allows the Dremel presses locking nut to be tightened on to this carrier. Whilst this mounting method is a bit "unusual" part of my design goal was to make the adpater fit without dissassembling the Dremel press.

SAFETY: I caution that in my opinion the Dremel is one of the most hazardous tools I have in my workshop, so users are advised they use this adapter at their own risk and they should take safety precautions when using a Dremel. Please use  eyeshield, dust masks, safety shoes (in case you drop the running tool on your foot!). Hearing protection might also be a good idea if you're operating it for significant durations.

The Dremel is not a precision or industrial quality tool, but I do find I keep ending up using it for various projects, and the intention of this carrier is to add a little fucntionality. Hopefully you'll find it useful as well.
