Belt buckle with the "Vergina Sun" emblem of the Macedonian dynasty, of
Alexander the Great. It has been adapted into a curved shield shape form from the planar original on
the golden larnax of Philip II, which is at the Archaeological Museum of Vergina (ancient Aigai). The rear side of the buckle does not have any historical significance, it reads "Sun of Vergina" in Greek and is signed.
The diameter of the buckle is 83.2 mm (3.27 inch). The loop hinge has an external width of 25.6 mm (1.01 inch) with 3.4 mm (0.13 inch) diameter holes. The ball at the tip of the hook has a diameter of 4.8 mm (0.19 inch).
