1/64 9000 series wheel conversion kit

1/64 scale kit to convert Ertl Authentic Quad  to 9000 series wheeled 4wd tractor. Kit includes front and rear fenders, weight kit, lights and front and rear axles. 

Converts Quads to 9170, 9180, 9270, 9280, 9370, 9380, and 9390 wheeled version.

Additional items required to complete the kit are paint, glue, decals and tires. Tools required are a drill and drill bits, dremel or small band saw and sand paper.

Kit is farly straightforward to install. Die cast front fenders are thrown away and replaced by 3D fenders included in kit. Tracks are removed and front and rear axle castings are cut off. Front axle is replaced by a part in the kit and the rear axle and plastic piece that supports the center pivot and steering cylinders are replaced by the part in the kit. Front fenders are attached to the chassis with screws that hold the quad fenders on. Rear fenders are removed from the main body (I use a small band saw) and grind the casting flush and sand smooth. Drill new holes in the rear casting that align the new axle to the body. Install tires and position rear fender with approx. .030" gap. Place dab of paint or marker on the pegs and press to mark drill locations of the fender onto the rear body. Drill holes and glue fenders using good quality superglue. 

Prime and paint components and assemble.
