CSS Chicora and CSS Palmetto State were two similar ironclad rams built in 1862 in Charleston, South Carolina. Both of the ships engaged in battle against US gunboats in January 1863.
Both ships were employed in the defense of Charleston during the rest of the war and eventually scuttled in 1865.
