The modern heavy tank of the Phystyulon Army, the reliable Pazzukaast Main Battle Tank has spawned numerous variants, even though it is only under a decade old as of 2347.

The Pazzukasst’s success starts with the basic hull. A low-grav motive system coupled with the efficient Naktoya power plant provides ample energy to move the heavy armour plating (rated at Tier 18) at a high maximum speed, while still retaining more than enough power for the energy weapons and shields. Two small lazer pylons are mounted horizontally, facing directly forwards. They cover only the front 180º hemisphere of the tank, and working in concert, though only Tier 12 individually, they can out put up to Tier 18 energy. However, their true purpose is linked to the towing tractor beam arrays, mounted in pairs at the front and rear of the tank. Both systems working together allow the Pazzukasst – and its descendants – to carve a path through heavy vegetation (especially forest) at a steady, if slow speed, with no chance of getting stuck or bogged down.

In keeping with Phystyulon design philosophy, the Pazzukasst’s armament is primarily lazer weapon based. The turret mounts a single heavy lazer cannon rated at Tier 21 with an impressive 10km atmospheric range. Two additional lazer pylons are mounted on the top of the turret, providing both point-defence and anti-infantry capability.

Finally, at the rear of the turret are mounted a pair of spacial charge launchers. These devices are used not unlike a smoke discharger, but are in fact an offshoot of the spacial disruptor technology used by starships to prevent FTL transit. One these devices launches a tiny spacial distortion generator which distorts the surrounding area. The effect does not last long, but while is does, any fire passing through it is deflected and very much more likely to miss or strike only a glancing blow. While this does not prevent the total protection from optical targeting locks that modern smoke does, the spacial charges affect all types of fire and are not bypassed via a sensor locks like smoke is.
