Product Description
This HO scale model represents a Tie Rack car converted by the C&EI (Chicago and Eastern Illinois) Railroad around 1947. They are originally from ACF gondolas built 1912-1913. The gondolas were converted to flat cars around 1925-1927, the flat cars were converted to the tie rack cars around 1947. They are in the number series 625-649 for maintenance of way service (MOW). This was created using an original diagram. It is designed for you to add your own coupler pocket. The bolster height will probably need to be shimmed depending on what type of truck you use for it. There are brackets on one end for the brake wheel housing. You will need to add trucks, couplers, brake wheel and detail, grab irons, and paint, etc. Decals are available for this at the C&EI Historical Society at ceihs.org.
