Airfix Leander to Rothesay Conversion Kit 1/600

Airfix Leander to Rothesay Conversion Kit 1/600 Scale. Designed to help scratch builders wishing to build Type 12 Frigates using Airfix's Leander Frigate Hull. For example HMS Plymouth, or HMS Yarmouth. The kit contains a replacement Bridge. It is the later type, with the extended center section. Later raked funnel. Multiple life raft canisters. Replacement five bladed props. Seacat Launcher and Directer. Twin 4.5 gun housing and barrel holders. Barrels are not included due limitations of the printing process. The existing kit barrels can be used, or fresh ones fashioned from sprue etc. Director for the 4.5. Whaler and Launch complete with early style davits. Westland Wasp helicopter. Again, due to limitations of the printing process, rotors are not included. The kit rotors can be used, or PE replacements are available elsewhere. Replacment Limbo Mortar. Two Corvus Chaff Launchers. Also a Derick which replaced the davits in later service. This is not a complete conversion kit, and some scratch building is still necassary for the remaining super structure and after hull to complete the model. Due to the small parts this kit is only available in FUD material, and is recomended for experienced model makers. Care must be taken removing the parts from the sprue, and while fitting due to the brittle nature of the material.
