SPEED RECORDER TYPE I

This is the early type speed recorder found on many EMD locomotives. There is a dimple at the end of the tube for easy centering of your drill bit. Drill them out with a #80 drill bit. I use Loksound wire for the cable. Strip the end of the wire insulation off, tin it and insert into the drill hole. You may have to increase the hole size for the wire. Drill diameter as necessary.
