Product Description
This is a 27 foot main post bracket signal with a lower dolly post on the right hand side printed in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic (previously called Frosted Ultra Detail - FUD) acrylic material that shows fine detail such as bolt heads, thinner components, etc.
The bracket signal post was usually used to indicate which track a train would be entering either the main line or the loop. The bracket could also indicate entry to other tracks or be a Home/Starter signal where there was restricted space. Signal post heights indicated the status of the track they were protecting. Similarly, signal arm placements and sizes followed the same rule.
A set of detail parts containing a 39 inch signal arm and a 30 inch arm, other details such as finials (Finial - officially known by NSWGR as a Pinnacle), lamp tops, lamp 'backlight blind', cast ladder base, bell cranks and counterweight levers is included with this signal. A spare part for the finial, lamp top, bellcrank and counterweight lever is included.
To complete this signal a mechanism needs to be purchased and glued underneath the signal (see - Signal Mech - 2 Arm).
A ladder for the signal is also needed and you can purchase from this Signals Branch Shapeways Shop, a sprue of two 21 foot ladders printed in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic (previously called Frosted Ultra Detail - FUD) acrylic material.
If you wish you could instead purchase an etched brass ladder.
Also required are some 0.015" phosphor bronze wire for operating rods, handrails and several small screws.
