Product Description
The Series 1 Lotus Evora uses a manual shifter with a ball-in-socket design made out of plastic. Because of the stresses shifting places on the plastic ball and cross-gate arm, the joint fatigues over time, resulting in a broken shift shaft.
This "blue ball" replacement has been faithfully recreated, and threaded with a central M12 x 1.5 hole. A complete replacement of the shift shaft using this ball requires additional materials, and the re-use of existing mechanisms, such as the reverse lock-out collar, lift tube, etc.
Recommended to print in either Stainless Steel or Aluminum. Post-printing polishing is highly recommended, regardless of material chosen.
WARNING: The internal threading of this part is considered "unprintable" to any specific tolerance level, and Shapeways design review will likely flag it as such. You have the option to continue to have it printed with the threads, which may require post-printing thread-following with an M12 x 1.5 bottoming tap.
