Product Description
Free-lance four-wheel backwoods wood-cab “critter” designed to fit a Republic Locomotive Works No. 2199 or Showcase Miniatures SKU 0018 four-wheel power chassis (not included). This represents an internal combustion engine loco that might have been built in a logging or mining railroad’s own shops. Consists of two parts: footplate and body. The footplate is designed to fit snuggly over the power chassis and the body is held in place with two 00-90 screws through MTL 905 couplers (not included) and holes in the footplate. It is suggested the builder fabricate and install metal weights inside the body as shown in the instructions diagram to improve traction.
GENERAL NOTE: These craftsman kits consisting of 3D printed resin plastic parts are NOT as strong or flexible as the “engineering” plastics many of you will be used to in railway models, nor even as strong as conventional injection molded styrene. HANDLE THE PARTS CAREFULLY TO AVOID BREAKAGE. Wash the parts in isopropyl alcohol aided by a soft brush. Very thin parts of the kit can be strengthened by applying very small droplets of CA adhesive with the tip of a pin or needle to the back of the thin area after the parts dry. (C01-221007)
