Product Description
The 1953 Ealing Comedy ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’ remains a firm favourite with railway enthusiasts. Its climax leads to L&MR locomotive ‘Lion’ (playing the titular ‘Thunderbolt’) pulling a GWR Toad brakevan and GWR Loriot Y machinery wagon with an old coach body mounted atop. This model is a 00 Scale rendition of ‘Dan’s Coach’ on the machinery wagon, comprising one-piece body/chassis and separate roof. The wagon alone is also separately available.
IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.
The following additional parts need to be sourced separately to complete (web links given as examples only):
Screw-fit coupling (best to just glue/pin – mounting point included on the tender):
Hornby Spares - Coupling Unit and Screws - A1X Terrier - Pack of 1

Weight (there are small areas on the underside and additional space within the coach body if necessary)
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Brake levers (their hangers are pre-printed)
Stove-pipe chimney
I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
