Product Description
  • A set of 30 round posts to make a cable barrier system for your custom magracing or slotracing track.
  • Looks great and helps prevent cars from ending up in the weeds!
  • Posts are .25" x .875" tall,  like 8" x 28" wooden posts at 1/32 scale.
  • Each post has pin .375" long attached to bottom of post for easy installation.
  • Piano/music wire can be used as cable with posts. Wire diameter of .025" (.6mm) to .032" (.8mm) works fine.
  • Can also be used with monofilament fishing line, or preformed 3 x 7 hollow core, braided stainless steel wire, with 0.031" diameter, which won't unravel when cut.
  • Similar to BP2-11 which has 9 tall posts and 2 short posts.
  • Can be colored with dye or paint. (Coloring with Rit Dye is probably easier.)

Installation Instructions
  1. Separate posts from sprue using sharp knife, razor saw, or hacksaw blade. (If you're going to paint them, it may be best to separate the 3 rows, and spray paint in rows of 10.)
  2. Dye or paint posts if desired. First brush off any extra powder. After the paint dries, clean out the holes with a #64 drill bit.
  3. Where you want the posts located, drill holes in baseboard of track slightlly larger than diameter of pin, if baseboard is hard like MDF. Make holes smaller, if baseboard is soft like XPS rigid foam insulation board. Space holes about 3" apart.
  4. About 1.75" from the location of the post at each end, start a small screw in the baseboard which will be used to anchor the ends of both cables to the baseboard at each end.
  5. Clean out all holes in posts with proper size drill bit and then slide both pieces of wire through both holes in all of the posts.
  6. Wrap the end of both cables around one of the screws and draw down the screw as needed.
  7. Put a dab of thick glue in the holes and press the posts into the baseboard.
  8. Wrap the other end of the 2 cables around the other screw and draw down the screw as needed.
  9. Before glue sets, straighten up the posts if needed
  10. When glue is cured, enjoy your cable barrier system that is both attractive and functional.
