Ball Jointed Doll (One Piece Head)

This doll is my first experiment in BJD printing. She is quite small - just 22 cm when assembled - yet rather detailed (the only detail that is not distinguishable is her nails) and very light. If you decide to paint it, the material takes paint very well, but even in white she is a very beautiful object that can be an alternative to the mantelpiece sculpture or to IKEA wooden figurine on the artist's desk.

To assemble her you will need:
- a piece of thin rubber string roughly 60 cm long, cut into 3 even parts which are then tied to form loops.
- 5 tiny S-hooks (It's easy to make them out of thin metal wire).

The hooks are held by the wires which are printed with the doll in her wrists, anckles and head. There are also wires printed in her knee joints, elbow joints, thighs and shoulders. The purpose of these is to keep the string in place, that is in the center of a joint. For the doll's ability to keep positions and stand it is important to thread the rubber string behind these wires (to the opposite side from the holes) so the string rests on them when the doll is posed. The short video below can give you a better idea of how the string runs through the joints.

The actual size is the smallest possible to print, while the bigger size is available on demand.
