The TAV-98 is typical of its kind – a robotic drone scout.  Showing the enormous reach of the Harbinger civilisation and the endurance of their robot drones, like the Herosine Psiloi Orb Scout half a galaxy away, the TAV-98 is modelled in the same fashion as the Harbinger’s scouts. The shape is different – the TAV has a more typical Phystyulon trapezoid shape over the cylindrical Harbinger scouts – but the role is the same.

A fully gravitic droid, the TAV-98 is self-aware, though only at the most primitive level. Light shields and armour give it resistance to infantry weapons, but in return, it only had a pair of lazer blasters for close defence. However, it is not supposed to be engaging in combat, but rather floating as concealed as possible and providing sensor and targeting data to other Phystyulon units.

TAV-98s are deployed typically in units of three, though each one will operate independently on the battlefield.
