Product Description
British 16" (~410mm) WWII naval guns were 45 calibers in length. For those not familiar, "calibers" in artillery refers to the length of the barrel as expressed as a multiple of the bore diameter. This means that a 16" gun of 45 calibers is 16"X45 or 720 inches long (60 feet). 16" 50 caliber would be 66.67" long. South Dakota class US battleships had 16" 45 caliber guns, while the Iowa clas had 16" 50 caliber.
This alternative version supposes that the planned HMS Lion class would have a 16" 50 caliber gun instead of 16" 45 caliber.
