Product Description
I have made many sculptures based on torus knots, as carved wood, carved stone, cast bronze and cast iron. The knot may be hanging in space, as this one is, or it may be a raised edge on a surface (the torus). In Fall 2010 I made a cast bronze kinetic sound sculpture of this (3,5) torus knot (hanging in space) about 12 inches in diameter. This is the jewelry size version in polished bronze and other materials, and I am very happy with its quality. The cross section of the rod forming the knot is simply circular, so this does not have the one side/one edge nature of my Mobius Figure Eight Knot. The (3,5) means that the path of the knot goes around the center of the torus 3 times, and goes through the hole of the torus 5 times, before coming back to its starting point.
