This is a beautifully delicate version of the 64 Tetrahedron Grid that forms a key component in the physics of researcher Nassim Haramein.
The 64 tetrahedron grid has become popular lately due to the work of physicist Nassim Haramein. He proposes that this shape best represents the balance between the expansive and contractive forces of space. Nassim's work in this regard is based on the work of Buckminster Fuller who called the infinite extension of this form the Isotropic Vector Matrix.

The 64 tetrahedron grid is a section of the infinite triangular pattern that Bucky Fuller called the 'Isotropic Vector Matrix' meaning that it is the most balanced arrangement of forces in all directions. In 2D it is the basis of the Flower of Life pattern, and in 3D like this it combines the tetrahedral, octahedral, and cubic symmetries. These are the basic symmetries of matter and energy in form.
Fuller said about it, "the Isotropic Vector Matrix is the zero starting point for all happenings and non happenings: It is the empty theatre, and empty circus, and empty Universe, ready to accommodate any act and any audience". This form can be made from 8 star tetrahedrons meeting at a central point. It contains within it besides the 64 small tetrahedrons, octahedrons, cuboctahedrons, and cubes.
