Product Description
20 mesh Mobius strips (a circle strip with a half twist, which gives it one side, one edge) lying centered in the XY plane, rotated 180 degrees around the Y axis in 20 increments, each offset in the X axis, and rotated 360 degrees around the Z axis in 20 increments. This makes it a kind of mobius strip of a mobius strip. If you imagine the strips being joined into a single smooth self-intersecting surface , it forms a Klein bottle, a surface with only one side (for a 'real' Klein bottle, the intersections are taken to be in a 4th dimension, projected into 3!) Programmed in Mathematica, this was created originally, with different software, by Joachim Baldwin, who explained it to me (see his Shapeways shop:model Mobius Nautilus if you wish to purchase one)
