A pair of Caprotti camboxes in 1/76 scale. Suitable for making models of British steam locomotives fitted with the British Caprotti valve gear developed in the 1950s. Locomotives that had this type of cambox fitted on top of the cylinders were:
44686 and 44687, the last two LMS Black 5s.
73125 to 73154, 30 of the BR Standard class 5s, of which 73129 survives.
71000 Duke of Gloucester, the unique BR Standard 8P which survives.
I initially made this part for my own use to convert a Bachmann Standard 5 into a model of 73129. I posted on the RMweb forum and found quite a few people doing their own models who wanted a set of camboxes, so I printed 10 pairs and sold them myself. Even after that I've had people ask about them so here individual pairs for sale.
I used Frosted ultra detail plastic which came out with crisp fine detail and can be seen in the pictures. Sorry for the poor quality pictures, they were taken on my phone camera.
To use simply cut the sprue off the bottom of the camboxes and glue to the model.
