Product Description
The CSS Nashville was a paddle-wheel ironclad built in 1864 in Alabama. Part of her armour was stripped from the CSS Baltic and reused on the side-wheel ironclad, although she saw very little action before being surrendered to Union forces in May 1865. Although never fully finished, Nashville had been heavily armored with triple 2in plating, but the structure was not strong enough and her hull hogged (the extremities bent downwards).
CSS Muscogee was built in Georgia but her name was changed in CSS Jackson right after launch. Although built during 1862, she was not commissioned until December 1864 due to delays and, due again to this cause, it never entered service. Jackson was set ablaze and scuttled in April 1865.
