Bring your Esterbrook FJ or Wordathon ballpoint to life again!
Just slip a D1 (mini) ballpoint refill into this adapter to make your Esterbrook FJ or Wordathon ballpoint from the 1950s write again. The click action of the pen will work as originally intended.UPDATE: A user reported that the adapter will also fit Esterbrook desk model ballpoints.
The 3D printing process generates a small amount of powder debris that tends to clog the socket and needs to be cleaned out before the first use. A dozen small vent holes help to remove the powder. I recommend using a straightened-out paper clip to loosen the powder, then tapping the adapter on a firm surface and/or blowing through the hole in the end of the adapter. Repeat several times until no more powder comes out.

You will have to provide a suitable D1 (mini) refill, readily available from local office supply stores. My personal favorite D1 refill is the Uni Jetstream SXR-200-07, which seems to have limited availability in the USA. JetPens.com carries it in the 0.7mm and 0.5mm tip sizes and in red, blue, and black. It is also sold on eBay by a number of Japanese sources.
