Product Description
These unusual earrings are inspired by the beautiful shape of the benthic foraminifera Amphicoryna scalaris. Foraminifera are single-celled amoeboid protists living inside perforated shells. Benthic foraminifera live on the bottom of the sea floor and feed by extruding out of the holes in their shells and snagging smaller plankton and bacteria. Amphicoryna is an extant species, still living today while also present in the fossil record.
Earrings are 1.1 cm (0.43 inches) long below the loop and 0.3 cm (0.1 inch) wide.
Earrings do not ship from Shapeways with hooks. You will need to purchase and attach them yourself.
