This piece was inspired by mathematics -- The Golden Ratio.  There is a relationship in nature that is aesthetically pleasing.  The Greeks knew of it and designed their buildings following this relationship.  For this piece, I sliced a circle at a place that follows this relationship.  I sliced the larger of the openings perpendicular to the first slice following the Golden Ration and continued several more times to create the geometry.  The other side is a mirror of the first geometry rotated 180 degrees.
