Product Description
NBR 'C' class/LNER J36
Designed by Matthew Holmes and later rebuilt by William Reid, 168 of these beauties served in Scotland over a period of nearly 80 years, of which 25 were sent to France during WW1 with the ROD. Today, only 1 example survives in the form of No. 673 Maude thanks to the efforts of SRPS Steam Group. A popular performer over the years, Maude is a personal favourite of mine from the time she appeared in the 2000 remake of The Railway Children starring Richard Attenborough and Jenny Agutter.
TUM's model, as shown in the prototype built to the usual high standard by Pedanticmongrel's N Gauge Modelling Projects, uses the excellent Graham Farish SECR C class chassis as a base as this comes very close to the wheel size and chassis length needed. Modellers simply have to purchase the body for both loco and tender from Shapeways and, with the usual addition of N Brass Locos parts to complete the model and painting, change the bodies over.
Print includes loco body and tender
