VacuumPipes_07

British N-gauge / 2mm:1ft vacuum pipes for model railway wagons and vans. Some low-level/horizontal pipes but mostly tall pipes, equal numbers of left- and right-hand leaning ones, and the same again for non-leaning ones with the hose hanging artfully just to the right or left of the pipe. There are no fine details on the pipes, hoses, or ends. These are just 0.6mm diameter rods 'bent' to roughly the right shape.
The right one to use on any given van or wagon end depends on the arrangement of the vacuum pipe under the wagon floor, and as those were generally off the centre line (and not along or across it for the leaning upright types, so which end of the wagon too, for those), you should refer to as many photographs and drawings of what you are modelling as you can find, looking out for relevant details like the position of the vacuum cylinder(s), too.
The fine detail plastic can be softened in hot water if you need to adjust the shape just a little bit.
There aren't as many of the horizontal type as the tall ones. Although the low level ones were most common, they are also the easiest to model by bending bits of wire if you really want them, and being right down by the coupling, they'll probably be more trouble than they are worth anyway!

UPDATED 2022-02-23 CAD file Version_14 Added another style of mostly upright pipe and improved the shape of the horizontal pipe. Doubled the number of units in the model. Still not tested by me, so buy at your own risk.
