Permanent Way Monuments

P4 Scale replica monuments primarily used on the Southern British Railway Sector.
They are designed to fit between the two running rails and are used to check gauging and levelling of the permanent way. Primarily used in the steam era although very much in existence in the 1990's.

A small hole needs to be drilled into the baseboard between the sleepers  on the centreline of trackwork. The item is then inserted into the hole  with the raised upper surface level with the rail top. It cn then be set in position with epoxy resin before covering the hole in a ballast of your choice. Although small these items are a nice additon to your scene.
