This is a recreation of a bronze Celtic ornament, or a part of one, from circa 600 A.C. found in Corinthia, Sanctuary of Hera at Perachora, Greece. The original, which has a diameter of 97 mm, is currently at the National Archaeological Museum, X 26803, in Athens. This is not a reproduction; the design was given symmetry and the missing parts were extrapolated. Such type of jewelry was utilized as an adornment on a belt or abdominal area.
