Product Description

These are custom designed Futhark Nordic Runes. The are intended to be used for Casting, similar to how Rune Stones are used. This set contains the key symbols that are generally grouped in the Third Aett. Which includes eight pieces (8 Runes)- Sometimes called the Heaven Family of eight runes. Many Norse Rune Sets contain 24 - 25 Runes.

Important Consideration: You may want to print each of the 3 Aettir in different colors. Example. Aett One in Yellow, Aett Two in Orange, Aett Three in Red. The color coding can help enhance a Cast - because you will quickly see if an Aett is dominant. And as such, you will be reminded to factor in the Aett Meanings into the Reading. Of course, advanced practitioners may not need this. But it can also be handy when explaining the Reading to the Seeker.

Note: Also included, is a second version of the ING symbol. Sometimes, called the Hero Symbol. You can choose which one to use, in your castings. Look carefully at the images before you purchase, as there are different interpretations for the Futhark Alphabet. Make sure that this version is acceptable for you, before you purchase.

The other Runes are listed and sold separately by group. And the Wyrd Rune is also sold separately, for those that use that Rune (sometimes called the Blank Rune).

Design Details: You may notice that the Frame is designed with a taper. This means that the right side of the frame is intentionally shorter than the left. You can use this detail to determine if the Rune was Cast "Upright" or "Reversed" (Contrary). Meaning, that if the Taper points left, then the Rune is upside-down - Reversed.

Another way to work with Reversals, is if the Rune is cast 'Face-Down'. This is easy enough to see, as the back side of each Rune Frame is intentionally simpler than the front. On the Front of each Rune, you can see more detail, specifically in that the dots in the corners of the frames, and the dots on the symbols, are hollow. In most cases, this can only be noticed from the face of each Rune. As well, the Rune Symbols are raised on the front of each Frame. So they sink in, on the back side of each frame.

All of these elements were intentionally designed into this Rune Frame System - to facilitate Clarity and Easy of Use.

Container Note: The Designer intends to Design a Custom Case, that would hold the full set. It will be offered for sale, when it is ready. In the meantime, there are lots of nice and small pouches, that can be purchased online, that would work well for holding, honoring and protecting your Rune set. Or you could consider stringing them on a necklace or perhaps a friendship bracelet, if you can find one that is the right size to fit through the frames.

Material Note: If you purchase these in Plastic, they feel light in the hand. At first, I didnt know what to think about that, but I have come to enjoy the bouyant feeling of this set. They cast well, though your casting technique may need to vary, based upon your casting surface, the form of these pieces, and your own physiology. If you are casting on a soft Altar Cloth, then you will get less bounce, and will need to adjust your technique to get the kind of 'scatter' that you are looking for. I like to place the Altar cloth on a hard surface, to add some bounce to the cast. Personal Preference. Softer surfaces can provide more overlap in the pieces, to give a more physical interaction between the pieces.

Note: Currently, I call them Futhark Frames. Or Rune Frames - as opposed to Rune Stones.
