This standard size hex tile for use with the popular board game Catan represents the desert. I've chosen multi-layered and multi-colored sand dunes as the motif and was especially pleased with how it turned out. They have a nice delicate feel and texture along with vibrant coloring. The center of the tile includes a thru hole which helps reduces weight (and cost), and also nests and locates the numbered disc perfectly. Cut-outs have also been created to help locate the roads and buildings.
Since the sandstone has a rough texture I've found that setting up the tiles on a table cloth works perfectly. There is just enough friction to prevent them from sliding around, however they are still easy to rearrange.
