Water scarcity is a global epidemic.  There are children around the world that walk for miles to find water, only for it to make them sick.  Lack of clean water can lead to health problems, poor education, and a loss of precious time.  According to “Facts and Statistics about Water and Its Effects,” “In developing countries, as much as 80% of illnesses are linked to poor water and sanitation conditions.”  By buying this poetic, multipurpose water droplet bead, you will be donating $4 to TheWaterProject (the rest is what goes to Shapeways for printing it).  This organization raises money to dig wells in communities in Africa to provide safe, clean water to the people living there.  A single well costs about $12,000 for construction and five years of maintenance.  So please make the dreams of safe, clean water a reality for the people of Africa.
