Product Description
This is a mounting system for the Marka Lexan Truck Bodies to fit on a standard Mini-z Chassis, 98mm wheel base. It's been used for other non-Marka bodies with success. I wanted something that allowed the body to come on and off like a regular autoscale body so i made this relatively simple system. I've used it for a lot of races and not once had the body pop off, as long as you mount it good.
To mount it:
1. do NOT paint the body before mounting, cut the body out
2. line up the front first, get the height, centering, and wheels aligned to determine the front holes, this is very important as it also determines the overall finish. take into consideration front/rear droop for your particular chassis.
3. after successfully lining up the front determine where the rear holes should be, mainly the top ones, the sides seem to be optional some use them some don't. You may want to tape together the rear chassis cross brace and side clips so you can get the lined up under the body to determine first where to cut the rear cross brace section and then line up the holes.
4. you may need to use some spacers in the front or rear depending on your chassis and other differences, maybe even shave a little off the front or rear parts to get it just right. The main thing is to get the front and side clips to seat good and tight.
Note: Be sure to use the right size screws, the plastic may split if you use too big. standard mini-z screws work well but you may need to reem out the holes just a little.
As a "bonus" i designed it to use the same size front clip as the Nascar style truck found here on shapeways, that way you can use one chassis for all your different trucks.
