HMS Harvester (H19) is an Havant class destroyer (half sister of the H class destroyers) originally being built for Brazil, but was purchased by the Royal Navy (and was originally named HMS Handy by the Royal Navy in 1939 before being renamed in 1940). It has 2x4TTs and Y turret removed as weight compensation for the depth charges. She went through 2 wartime modifications (1940 and 1942) after what this model represents. She was sunk by a u-boat in March 1943.
Simple one piece model design for smaller scales and tweaked to ensure as compliant as possible with Shapeways across a range of materials and the perfect base on which modellers can add the fine detail flourishes to, depending on your skill level. The model has ‘floored guns’ for the best durability to reduce breakages, and be printable in the material offered. Designed by Philip Warnes and can be used at a larger hex scale with his
SeaLion Supremacy game, or any other naval tabletop game that uses this scale.
If you have family that served on this vessel, why not order a metal miniature to keep as a small family keepsake or gift for someone else whose family served onboard. Or maybe you had family who worked at the yards that built this vessel. Keep your family military history alive.
