This thin, rigid case keeps the delicate Dark Slide on the Hasselblad A12 film back safe when shooting. A common problem with dark slides is finding a place to keep them when not inserted into the back. They often get bent around the corners, making it impossible for them to be inserted in the back after you’ve finished shooting. The Dark Slide Keeper solves this issue. The keeper is compact, light and rigid enough to keep the slide safe in your bag or around your neck via a lanyard. While later model film backs were eventually released with a dark slide holder stuck to the back, many would agree that they ruin the classic look of the Hasselblad body. Not to mention they are usually much more expensive than the standard A12 back. So if you don’t own the later film back, hate the look of it, or don’t want to glue the holder onto your beloved earlier model back, this is for you. UPDATE: The design has been updated, removing the two tabs at the top that fit inside the dark slide’s pull handle. For those who have already purchased the original design, these tabs do not hinder the function of the product at all. We have found that the dark slide is secure enough in the keeper without the tabs.
