Aries Class Destroyer

The Aries class was the largest warship fielded in the mid 23rd century. This Trojan-Ioan Empire's warship was designed to be the embodiment of the God of War.  With dual fusion engines, cryogenic fuel propellant storage, rotating habitat section and a crew of over 250.  It was capable of long duration missions lasting 2 years.

The forward head of the Aries was composed of 5 sections. The central docking bay and 4 weapons bay wings that extended outward.

The central docking bay in the nose supported a mixture smaller space transports as well as drones and manned space fighters. To the sides of the hanger were the twin neutral particle beam cannons and eight point defense mass drivers.

The larger side weapons bays were referred to as the Hammer Heads. They contained massive magazines of missiles of various types. The missiles ranged from simple 100 G acceleration kinetic kill warhead all the way to 50 Gigaton bombs. The Radar and Lidar arrays were also placed in the fore of this section. The Hammer Heads were also used as additional armor for the rotating habitat section. Before entering battle the rotation of the habitat section was stopped and locked in place behind the Hammer Heads. Because there is nothing worse then finding out after you won the battle that you life support systems is all shot to hell. 

The thinner Axe Head weapons bays provided the foundation for the Aries four 15-centimeter cannons and it’s four 5-meter laser turrets.
