Product Description
Model of a small 040T built by Couillet for railways of various gauges around the world in the 1880s and 1890s. This is designed to use a Fleischmann 7000 040T chassis for a model in O9/On18. Cab supports need to be added from 1mm diameter brass rod, and some pipework and detailing is also necessary. Archer Rivet Transfers are recommended for applying rivet detail to the loco.

In the absence of accurate drawings the model has been scaled from photos and known dimensions, and adapted to fit the chosen chassis and gauge. Many photos of Couillet and Decauville locos supplied to Spain and New Caledonia have been used as part of my research.
As so often occurs, 3 months after I finished CAD voie libre published drawings! I still feel the model captures the look of the prototype. Unlike other models I've produced this one does not have a full instruction page. But if you've built one of my other locos you can do this. For my model I converted a Fleischmann chassis to outside frames by extending the axles, using my 3D printed cranks and making dummy outside frames from 0.3mm nickel silver, though I have used 0.5mm styrene in the past.
Though the prototypes of these small locos were built by Couillet, many of them were bought by the Decauville company and 'rebadged' with Decauville plates and works numbers.

The parasol cabbed loco is the blue one in the photos.
