As I always loved the Art Deco style period, I decided to honour this style period in modern times to make a 3D printed art deco lampshade.
In order to make the design avalible for the rest of the workd, without my own production facilities, I made the design avalible on Shapeways.
You will need to order the other half as well, and you will need to buy some hardware, in order to assemble the lampshade.
What you need:
The shade (other order, check my shop)
The Base (This Order)
LED lightsource ( a LED puck style lighting, or a small LED strip)
M5 bolt and nutt to bolt the 2 3D prints together.
The bolt should have a minimum treath length of 12mm, and a max threat length of 16mm.
Assembly:
-Bolt the 2 3D printed parts together.
-Attach the LED light source of your choice to the wall.
-Hold the lampshade on to the wall, to determine where you want the lampshade will be in relation to the LED.
-Mark out the holes for the keys of the lampshade.
The centres are 32mm apart.
-Drill the holes, and fit the screws.
Disclaimer:
Use only cold LED’s for this lampshade.
Please follow up to instructions of your supplier LED supplier, and make sure that the light source doesn't get hot (run a test), as this might cause the 3D print to melt.
As with all electronic devices, never leave it un attended.
