Product Description
A 1/12th scale model.
A lubester is a hand pump device used for pumping fresh automobile engine oil into glass containers for easy dispensing into automobile engine crankcases. They were typically found in early gas stations sitting atop a square metal oil tank. The "S" shaped drain pipe was swung to one side and the glass oil bottle was placed under the lubester spigot. The operator turned the crank to pump oil into the glass container. Once the glass container was full, a long cone shaped spout was placed over the mouth of the bottle. The full glass "oil can" was then ready to use.
