Loxodrome ornament 2

A loxodrome, or rhumb line, is a arc on a sphere whose direction maintains a constant angle in relationship to the latitude, or the same bearing in relation to the north pole. It forms a spiral which gets tighter as it approaches the poles. To accommodate this, the loxodrome strips in this model grow thinner as they approach the poles. It makes a nifty Christmas tree ornament.
