Product Description
Replacement forward and reverse cam for Akai M-9 Reel to Reel tape deck.
May also fit other models Including Roberts Rheem Reel to Reel machines that use cams.
Replaces the original cams that commonly crumble from poor metal and age.
This model has been printed in versatile plastic and confirmed to work wonderfully in an Akai M-9 from 1967.
Steel and Aluminum are options, but have not been tested.
You will need to tap the set screw hole and provide a screw. I used a 8-32 hex head set type.
To keep the roller plate attached I used a soldering iron to melt the protruding plastic (see pictures)
If there is interest, I will create a Mass reduced version that will bring the metal print cost down
