45 inch flanged Replacement Driver For Bachmann

Bachmann drivers are 40".  These are .220" larger than stock.  I built these to fit on my scratch built D&RG ten Wheeler on which I used bachmann axles and gearbox.  I have not tried to put these on an American or Mogul, so order as an experiment.
NOTE:  Bachmann made two styles of driver center.  This one is designed for the double key style, not the double flat style.  Be sure what you have before ordering.
NOTE: PLEASE do not order these unless you have a lathe and the skill to use it.  The steel these are made from behaves a lot like stainless.  It is hard and sticky.  That is why there is no crank pin.  I ended up tap drilling to 2.85mm and even then I was afraid I was going to break the tap.  I only did one this way.  The rest I drilled out the crank pin and made a brass insert.  You will need to make a brass pin that is 5.11mm or .201" in diameter.  The main rod crank pin is 23.59mm or .929" long.  Drill 2.5mm and tap with a M3 by .5 tap.  Press this into the hole.  Make a shorter one for the other drivers.  If you can follow these directions and know what you are doing you can measure the length needed for the short pin.
Note:  You will need to clean up the tread and the bearing surface on the back.  I started by holding the wheel on the bearing surface and ensuring the back of the wheel is tight against the chuck jaws.  VERY light cuts. 3 degree angle on the tread.  Turn it around and LIGHTLY turn the bearing surface. 
NOTE:  Of the six I ordered for my ten wheeler I had to hand work the center hole of one to get the wheel to not wobble.  I ended up filing away on one side and gluing in a piece of polystyrene on the other to tip the driver straight.
