BNSF 77 HEP End

This part is designed to be a replacement part for the Walthers Proto 74' Pullman-Standard baggage car ends. It is appropriate for ATSF and BNSF baggage car 77, as part of the business train car series. It makes several improvements over the stock end panel, namely the addition of marker light housings, HEP sockets, and tubular diaphragm mounting points.

Components needed:
(1) End Panel kit (this product)
(4) 2mm tower LEDs or similar red acrylic rod
0.008" wire for grab irons
3/32" heat shrink insulation for diaphragm
silver paint
red paint

Assembly Instructions
Separate the two panels and sand the sprues smooth
Carefully cut away the striker plate and clean up the sprue.
Drill out holes for grab irons and railings.
Clean the marker light holes with a 2mm drill bit.
On the rear of the panel, a drill starter point is provided for a brake wheel. Drill this out for one panel only.
Add conduit for marker lights.
Bend and install grab irons.
Bend and install coupler cut lever through mounting loop.
Install red marker light lens from the rear.
The walthers car core will need to be modified to enable LED-lit marker lights.
Cut diaphragm material to length and glue in place.
A small section can be used as a spring for the striker plate. A notch on the rear of the plate is provided for this purpose.
Airbrush panel with silver paint, try to match Walthers side panel color. Paint the HEP sockets red.
