Product Description
The 2022 World Cup Ball is based on a skewed icosidodecahedron.
The 8 triangles corresponding to the octahedron faces are the basis of the design are kept equilateral.
The size of these trangles can be changed but the sides need to be kept aligned with the ocahedron vertices.
The remaining triangles (isosceles) are merged with the pentagons in the spherical projection to form 12 quadrilaterals.
The ball has 20 parts in total (8 equilateral triangles and 12 kites.
In the real ball, the octahedron-face triangle edges are not perfectly aligned with the octahedron vertices. This little twist makes it a 2-parameter family.
The print presented here has no twist and the octahedron-triangle edges are 20° from the base octahedron edges.
