Femur - OP - Medium

This is an Organic Planar version of the Femur - The Upper Leg Bone - The Thigh Bone.

The "Plane Breaks" are very clear. So Artists can study this bones simplified shapes, to learn how to draw it.

As a Bone House, The Thigh Bone is often associated with Journeys, Endurance, News, Future Events and Omens.

Related: Tibetans fashion a Trumpet from the Femur of a crimiinal, a respected teacher or from someone who died a vioent death. It is used to summon demons and other spirits. The sound can also scare off Evil Spirits. This Trumpet is called a Kangling.

Reading a Casting: When interpreting the meanings of a Bone Casting, the Reader pays close attention to the patterns, orientations and interactions of the bones. The Femur is a long bone, so it can interact with other long bones. It can cross (interfere) or be crossed-by other bones. This type of Event, will change its meaning.

Long Bones can also act as a divider between two groups of bones. Or it can be treated as a pointer, to emphasize the importance of a specific Bone House or group of Houses.

As well, the Femur has an arc to it. I call this an "Embrace". If another bone falls within its embrace, then the femurs meaning is merged with it. If the femur is arced away from a bone, then the femur rebuffs that bone. It nay be unrelated, spurning, or trying to separate its meaning from the nearby bone. etc. For example, if you decide that the Femur means Journeys. Then if the Femur has its back to a Skull (Thought), then it could mean "Don't Think, Just do it - Go on the trip quickly". Whereas, if the Femur embraces the Skull, then it could mean that more Planning is called for, before you take that trip. Etc.

Each Bone Reader works in a different way, so these are just suggestions for getting you started. Consider researching the Thigh Bone, to gain a more intimate relationship with it. Don't just look at Human Thigh meanings. Consider that animals and birds have similar bones as well. It may turn out that those meanings are more appropriate for your purposes.
