Quad FM3 Mute Control

These are the plastic parts of the Quad FM3 mute control. This was a combination potentiometer and knob  made by Plessey and now unobtainable. It consists of an outer knob and an inner ring with a slot that moves the metal arm of the wiper. The slot deteriorates so that it no longer engages the wiper, and this is why you may need this part. Note that this is only the plastic parts, no electricals: you need the spindle, carbon surface, wiper, nut, shakeproof washer, and circlip from the old part, noting carefully how it all goes back together. The knob is lightly glued to the inner ring and can be removed without much trouble. When you assemble with the new parts, a push fit should be sufficient, or else a touch of soluble glue. Do not use superglue or Araldite.
