Product Description
Vilhelm Hammershoi's use of light and shadow in the piece, "Interior in Strandgade, Sunlight on the Floor," is what immediately drew me to his work.
As the warm sunlight streams through the window, casting light into the dark room, I found myself gravitated towards the positive and negative space that was created on the floor. The reflected glass in the window and the illuminated floor gives weightlessness to a room that appears heavy. With these observations, my intention for this pendant was to embody the elements of positive and negative space created by light and darkness in Hammershoi's painting.
